Highs in 90s Wednesday; fall-like weather coming for weekend

Updated: 2013-09-11T15:10:44Z

It’s going to be another hot one Wednesday as unseasonable hot and dry conditions continue.

Highs are expected to be in the low to middle 90s across the Kansas City region, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.

But as a cold front moves into the area, fall-like temperatures will be settling in for the weekend.

The cold front will bring a few scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning, but it will do little to relieve the ongoing drought occurring across northern Missouri.

Thursday’s highs will be cooler with highs in the low to middle 80s.

The fall-like weather will last through the weekend with highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s.

Overnight lows this weekend will be in the 40s and 50s.
