It’s showdown week in Missouri

Here it comes: The Battle of Missouri.

Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon goes toe to toe with the Republican-dominated General Assembly starting Wednesday when lawmakers convene for their annual veto session.

It could be tense.

Unlike past veto sessions that were relatively calm, this one shapes up as anything but.

Nixon this summer nixed a series of measures that Republicans passed, including that big tax-cut measure championed by state Sen. Will Kraus, a Lee’s Summit Republican.
