Several Kansas City teams crack Missouri state volleyball poll

A year after Lafayette capped an undefeated volleyball season with a sweep of Lee's Summit West in the Missouri Class 4 state championship, both teams find themselves back in the state rankings this fall.

Lafayette tops the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches preseason poll, with Lee's Summit West coming in 10th.

In Missouri Class 3, Pleasant Hill is ranked sixth after finishing runner-up to Westminster Christian last season.

The full rankings are below. The Class 2 poll has not been released.

1. Visitation, 2. Borgia, 3. Villa Duchesne, 4. Perryville, 5. Lutheran South, 6. Pleasant Hill, 7. Logan Rogersville, 8. St. Dominic, 9. Ste. Genevieve, 10. O'Hara, Also receiving votes: St. Pius X, MICDS, St. Charles West, Duchesne, Cape Notre Dame, Westminster

Class 1

1. Winona, 2. Bernie, 3. Osceola, 4. Sante Fe, 5. West Platte, 6. Pierce City, 7. Advance, 8. Midway, 9. Sacred Heart, 10. Valle Catholic
