A Hollywood source tells the website that the 76-year-old actor, who hasnt been seen in a movie since 2010s How Do You Know, has officially called it quits after five decades and three Oscars.
"Jack has without fanfare retired," says the source. "There is a simple reason behind his decision its memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.
"His memory isnt what it used to be."
Hes still a regular at Los Angeles Lakers games, so hes not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesnt want a tribute, says the source. Hes happy to tacitly join the retirees club like Sean Connery.
No word from Nicholsons camp on the report.
