Truck leads police on downtown KC chase

Updated: 2013-08-31T05:12:18Z

The driver of a semi tractor was arrested Friday after leading police on a chase through downtown Kansas City and the East Bottoms.

Officers received a report that the driver might be under the influence. When they tried to stop him in the area of 21st and Harrison streets, he drove away.

The truck, without a trailer, headed north into downtown, where officers used stop sticks, which punctured his two front tires.

The truck continued at low speeds east on Independence Avenue and then into the East Bottoms, where it stopped at Gardner Avenue and Chouteau Trafficway. The driver was arrested there.
