The Missouri Republican Party is out with a statement on the arrest of Rep. Jeremy LaFaver on, among other things, pot charges.

The GOP wants LaFaver, of the 25th district, to quit.

From their statement:

“Missouri Republicans are calling on Democrat Rep. LaFaver to walk the walk and take genuine responsibility by resigning from the Missouri House of Representatives.

UPDATED:

In a quick interview, the embattled Democrat said he would leave his job with the House Democratic Victory Committee, he won’t leave the legislature.

“I’m not resigning as a state representative,” he told The Star’s Jason Hancock.
