The Kansas Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate a school bus crash Wednesday that injured 22 students from Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City.
In a letter to parents Friday, school officials said three students suffered broken collarbones, one had a broken arm and another suffered a dislocated shoulder. Several students were diagnosed with concussions. All have been released from hospitals.
The school has scheduled a meeting Monday for parents to hear from the patrol and from counselors who have been helping the children. An expert on dealing with concussions has been scheduled to meet with faculty and staff.
The bus was transporting sixth-grade girls to an overnight camping trip when its rear wheels left the roadway and the bus rolled onto its side on the exit ramp from southbound Kansas 7 to Kansas 32 in Bonner Springs.
