Chick-fil-A wants to open a new restaurant in north Kansas City.

The Atlanta, Ga.-based chain has purchased the former Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon building in BarryWoods Crossing, 6501 N.W. Barry Road. The 5,500-square-foot building on 1.2 acres would be torn down for the new Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A officials declined to comment on the location.

David Hickman of CBRE in Kansas City handled the negotiations for the seller. Jeff Berg of Lane4 Property Group handled the negotiations for Chick-fil-A.

The Lone Star Steakhouse closed in April according to company officials.
