Truck crash creates rush hour delays on I-70 in Blue Springs

Updated: 2013-08-21T12:32:14Z

A tractor-trailer crashed into a guardrail and overturned early Wednesday morning, creating major backups for the morning rush hour.

The truck crashed about 2:30 a.m. along Interstate 70 just east of Missouri 7 in Blue Springs, according to the Kansas City Scout system.

The crash limited westbound I-70 to one lane of traffic for several hours. Although all lanes have since reopened, the right shoulder remained closed while crews transferred the cargo from the overturned truck.

The crash has caused traffic delays through the area with westbound I-70 traffic backing up to Grain Valley.
