Kansas City area food establishments with many critical health code violations that could lead to food borne illnesses. Most violations are corrected at the time of the inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for multiple health code violations.
• Bonito Michoacan, 1150 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had seven priority violations during an Aug. 2 follow-up inspection, including salsa held at improper temperatures.
A manager, through an interpreter, said all the violations have been corrected.
• Cafe Provence, 3936 W. 69th Terr., Prairie Village, had nine priority violations during an Aug. 7 routine inspection, including a cook using his bare hands to place sauteed asparagus and cooked fish on a plate to serve to a customer.
“All of the violations were corrected on the spot,” said Patrick Quillec, manager.
• Lenexa Longbranch Steakhouse, 8600 Marshall Drive, Lenexa, had seven priority violations during a July 25 routine inspection, including tuna salad, chicken salad, cole slaw, potato salad, and raw chicken stored in cooler at improper temperatures.
Restaurant officials did not return phone calls.
• Vietnam Cafe, 2200 W. 39th Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had six priority violations during a July 31 follow-up inspection, including raw beef stored above raw pork and raw pork stored above raw chicken in the walk-in cooler.
Restaurant officials declined to comment.
• Winstead’s, 8817 W. 83rd St., Merriam, had seven priority violations during an Aug. 7 inspection following a complaint, including salad, cheesecake, milk and other foods held at improper temperatures .
