Good news, Kansas City chocoholics: You don’t have to go far to get some of the nation’s hottest chocolate.

Food & Wine named Christopher Elbow Artisanal Chocolate to its “Best Chocolate in the U.S.” list. The local company’s Venezuelan Spiced hot chocolate, spiked with cinnamon and chiles and topped with homemade marshmallows, also made the food magazine’s “Best Hot Chocolate in the U.S.” list.
Food & Wine’s editors commend Christopher Elbow for “his beautiful hand-painted chocolates (which) come in creative flavors like bananas Foster and caramel apple.” Elbow’s No. 6 Dark Rocks chocolate bar, studded with candy that pops in your mouth, is also a “favorite among Food & Wine editors.”
