Were still more than three years away from the 2016 presidential elections, but the GOPs top leaders already are running scared of Democrat Hillary Clinton.

In a bizarre announcement Monday, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus sent letters to NBC and CNN, telling them his group essentially would try to prevent the GOP partys candidates from appearing on those networks during any 2016 debates.
The preposterous reason?
Well, both those networks are preparing shows on Clinton, one of the most famous, controversial and successful politicians and national policymakers of our time. NBC is planning a miniseries; CNN is putting together a documentary.
In other words, they are doing their jobs, producing programs that people might want to see.
Or ... in the eyes of the GOP leader, the liberal media are just getting ready to promote Clintons presidential run in 2016.
Here are the fanciful words right out of Priebus mouth:
Its appalling to know executives at major networks like NBC and CNN who have donated to Democrats and Hillary Clinton have taken it upon themselves to be Hillary Clintons campaign operatives. Their actions to promote Secretary Clinton are disturbing and disappointing. I hope Americans will question the credibility of these networks and that NBC and CNN will reconsider their partisan actions and cancel these political ads masked as unbiased entertainment. If they have not agreed to pull this programming prior to the start of the RNCs Summer Meeting on August 14, I will seek a binding vote stating that the RNC will neither partner with these networks in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates they sponsor.
Naturally, other GOP supporters are falling in lockstep behind this crazy demand.
Its the latest attempt by Republicans to keep the debate centered on divisive topics that have nothing to do with addressing the real problems of this country.
A vote on Priebus motion could come at a national GOP meeting later this month. Im sure the nation cant wait to see what wacky action the Republican leaders take next.
