A husband and wife were killed Thursday when their car collided with a tractor-trailer.

Grandview police identified them as John E. Miller and Barbara A. Miller of south Kansas City.

The accident occurred about 7:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 49 at Harry Truman Drive.

According to police reports, the vehicle driven by 68-year-old John Miller was entering the highway when it struck the right side of the truck and spun underneath the trailer. The car struck a guardrail and was then pushed from beneath the trailer. Both Miller and his 64-year-old wife died at the scene. Neither wore a seat belt, police said.
