— A total of 39 Chiefs quarterbacks, rookies and selected veterans coming off injuries took the field for the team’s first training camp practice of the season Tuesday at Missouri Western State University.

Offensive tackle Eric Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, was not among them. He remains unsigned.

One note from practice: Rookie cornerback Sanders Commings, the Chiefs’ fifth round pick from Georgia, injured his left shoulder and is getting X-rays.

The rookies, QBs and selected veterans will also practice Wednesday and then take Thursday off. The Chiefs’ first full squad workout is scheduled for Friday.
