Former KCK Mayor Joe Reardon to join law firm

Updated: 2013-07-18T06:16:36Z

Joe Reardon, the former mayor and CEO of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, on Wednesday ended a long silence about his future by announcing he was joining a Kansas City law firm.

Reardon, 44, will join McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, which calls itself the largest law firm in Kansas City.

The firm said Reardon will work in the areas of technology law, public policy and economic development. Reardon was mayor when Google Fiber announced that it had picked Kansas City, Kan., as the first market for its first high-speed Internet service. He also helped oversee the continued growth of western Wyandotte County.

“Though no longer in public office, I remain committed to advancing causes and projects for the entire region,” he said.
