Traffic at Kansas City International Airport in 2013 dipped almost 7 percent below the traffic for the first five months of 2012, a news release says.

May traffic inched up — a .9 percent increase. But, for the year to date: “Boardings at KCI totaled 1,881,888, a decrease of 6.9 percent from the same period last year.”

A special committee is studying the airport and may recommend improvements.
