Here’s some good news for a hot day: Kansas City was ranked No. 16 on Travel and Leisure’s “America’s Best Cities for Ice Cream” list.

According to the list, “ice cream may be the perfect palate-cleanser for Kansas City’s survey-winning barbecue.” Glace Artisan Ice Cream, Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard, and Murray’s Homemade Ice Creams all snagged mentions on the travel magazine’s website.

In case you’re wondering, the city that took the No. 1 spot on the “America’s Best Cities for Ice Cream” list is Savannah, Georgia.

Hungry for more ice cream? My latest dining column in Ink is all about my first visit to Murray’s, which has been scooping in Westport since 1984.
