Updated: 2013-07-16T19:03:20Z

Kansas City police are investigating the shooting of a man in the eye.

The victim was hit while driving near 43rd Street and Agnes Avenue late Sunday.

The victim and another man told police they had been at a friend’s house and were driving home when they heard gunshots about 11:45 p.m.

The man said he noticed the victim’s eye was “leaking,” and then the victim realized he had been shot.

The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
