Independence police investigate homicide

Independence police said Wednesday they’re investigating a homicide after a person was found fatally injured near College Street and Crysler Avenue.

Police said they were called to the area about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a shooting. Officers saw that a vehicle had struck a power pole and two houses, and they found the injured male. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name was not released.
