Woman stabbed to death in Kansas City, Kan.

Kansas City, Kan., Police are questioning a man in connection with the stabbing of a woman found dead inside a residence on Waverly Avenue.

Police arrived at a residence in the 7100 block of Waverly Avenue in Kansas City about 10:30 a.m. Saturday and found a woman, in her 40s, dead from apparent stab wounds.

About a block away from the scene, officers located a man they said is “a person of interest,” in connection to the death. He was taken to the Criminal Investigations Unit for questioning.

The identity of the victim will not be released until after family members have been notified.
