Here are some Kansas City area food establishments that had many critical health code violations, which could lead to food-borne illnesses. Most violations are corrected at the time of the inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for multiple health code violations:
• Blanc Burgers + Bottles, 10583 Mission Road, Leawood, had seven violations during a July 1 inspection following a complaint, including raw ground beef patties stored over prevously cooked ground pork patties in a cooler.
“Our meat drawer was put away wrong and the violation was corrected on site. Everything was corrected within 24 hours after the inspection,” said executive chef Aaron Mulder.
• Burger to Go, 625 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had eight priority violations during a June 20 routine inspection, including an employee touching raw beef and then not changing gloves before handling ready-to-eat buns, tomato and lettuce.
A manager declined to comment.
• Callahan’s, 22917 W. 83rd St., Lenexa, had seven violations during a June 24 routine inspection, including partially cooked chicken held at improper temperatures.
Restaurant officials had no comment.
• In & Out 66, 2100 Park Drive, Kansas City, Kan., had nine priority violations during a June 3 inspection for an expired license, including no thermometer for taking food temperatures. It had three priority violations during a June 17 follow-up inspection.
Store officials had no comment.
• Old Shawnee Pizza & Italian Kitchen, 6000 Rogers Road, Shawnee, had seven violations during a June 26 inspection following a complaint, including an open container of slaw dated June 7 in the cooler (slaw discarded).
“We corrected everything on site,” said owner William Walker.
• Osuna Bakery, 749 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 14 violations during a June 24 routine inspection, including fresh mouse droppings in the storage closet. (The person in charge provided an invoice for a pest control treatment that was done June 19.)
The owner said the violations have been corrected.
• Sakura Buffet, 6743 W. 75th St., Overland Park, had nine violations during a June 25 follow-up inspection, including raw chicken, cooked noodles and imitation crab held at improper temperatures on a make table.
The owner said the violations had been corrected.
• Taqueria Mexico, 11977 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 10 priority violations during a June 18 inspection, including an employee observed eating in the kitchen and then removing clean dishes from the dishwasher without first removing gloves and washing hands.
“The employee has been retrained and is under close supervision to ensure proper sanitation procedures and to avoid recurrence of that event,” said Cindy Brito, spokeswoman for the restaurant. “Everything has been corrected.”
The restaurant had three priority violations during a July 2 follow-up inspection.

The Environmental Health Division of the Jackson County Public Works Department cited this operation:
• Little Caesars, 6203 Main St., Grandview, had three critical violations during a June 12 inspection, including food items in the pizza prep cooler at improper temperatures (food items discarded).
A manager had no comment.
