Officials on Friday located the body of a 29-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man last seen swimming Thursday in Hillsdale Lake in Miami County.

The Miami County sheriff’s office said the body of Khai Pu was recovered about 5:30 p.m. Friday in the general area where he had last been seen in the water by a group of family members and friends about 6 p.m. Thursday.

An autopsy will be performed to establish the cause of death, but there is no indication of anything other than drowning, said Miami County Undersheriff Wayne Minckley.

The body was recovered by the Osawatomie Fire Department Water Rescue team.

Pu had last been seen near the boundary line marked with buoys at the edge of the swimming area.

Hillsdale Lake is about 20 miles southwest of Olathe.
