Updated: 2013-06-30T15:11:50Z

Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Kansas City, Kan., on Saturday night because of someone threatening to jump off a bridge.

The highway was closed shortly before 9 p.m. at Minnesota Avenue and all traffic was diverted onto I-670. Authorities eventually coaxed the person off the Lewis and Clark Viaduct, and I-70 was reopened to traffic early Sunday.

It was not known if the person was taken into custody. .
