So happy that the Leavenworth native is getting married.
She announced today that she is getting fully, completely and legally married this year to my true love of over three years, TV writer Linda Wallem.
She and Wallem, the creator of TVs Nurse Jackie, have been in a relationship since 2010.
I look forward to exercising my American civil liberties, she said on Twitter after the Supreme Court struck down a provision of the Defense of Marriage Act.
The court also let stand earlier rulings that Californias Proposition 8 was unconstitutional, clearing the way for gays and lesbians to once again marry in California.
Lets hear it for the general progress of the human mind. With a beautiful sweep of sweet justice's blind hand we move forward, Etheridge tweeted. We correct the laws made hastily out of fear.
Etheridge told CNNs Ashleigh Banfield that she will get married in California.
I woke (the kids) up this morning telling them the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA ... I love everybody out there, she told Banfield. Its a great day.
Etheridge was previously in an eight-year partnership with actress Tammy Lynn Michaels. They share custody of 7-year-old twins Johnnie and Miller.
No word on a wedding date yet.
