In April, Debbie Gold left her job as executive chef at The American Restaurant to become a culinary partner in Red Door Grill, a new Leawood restaurant with plans to expand.

Gold, a James Beard Award-winning chef who competed on Bravos Top Chef Masters, was temporarily replaced by sous chef (and certified cicerone) Josh Eans. This morning the restaurant announced Golds successor: Michael Corvino, executive sous chef at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. Corvino will move to Kansas City in July and launch his menu at The American August 1.
