Shawnee Mission East senior-to-be Olivia Sneed, has experienced her share of tennis success in the Missouri Valley Sweet 16 Championship.

This time, however, it came in doubles.
Sneed paired with Madison Westby to win the girls 18-and-under doubles bracket at the Plaza Tennis Center on Thursday. She was upset in the singles draw, ending a string of three straight trips to the championship match. She bounced back to win the consolation bracket on Friday.
Blue Valley’s Alexa Tiefel, who will be a sophomore, teamed with Caroline Morton and won the girls 16-and-under doubles bracket. The duo defeated Caitlin Calkins and Jaci Cochrane 8-4 in the championship match.
Sneed and Tiefel earned their wins in the five-state southern championship, which includes players from Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Iowa.
Blue Valley North senior-to-be Trey Daniel injured his ankle and was forced to retire from the championship of the boys 18-and-under division. He and partner Jake Norman took second place in doubles.
