Fire damages Mission Hills home

Updated: 2013-06-17T14:03:13Z

Fire broke out in a Mission Hills house Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire shortly before 8 a.m. in the 5800 block of Mission Drive. Arriving fire crews reported seeing smoke coming from the two-story house.

Two residents who were home at the time were able to get out of the house safely and no injuries were reported.

A nearby water main break, however, threatened to flood a home, according to scanner traffic.

Firefighters told WaterOne that they still had good water pressure and the break was not affecting their ability to suppress the fire, said Mandy Cawby, WaterOne’s communications manager.
