Robbers hit two Kansas City area banks Saturday, and one incident led to a police chase and a six-hour standoff with one suspect.

The FBI says the Arvest Bank at 9300 Blue Ridge Boulevard in Kansas City was robbed at about 11:40 a.m.

The suspect was described as a black male weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a cowboy hat, a black and tan checkered shirt, and blue jeans. He reportedly displayed a weapon and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A second robbery occurred at about noon at the Enterprise Bank at 18931 Valley View Parkway in Independence.

Following a foot chase, Independence Police took two persons of interest into custody.

Meantime, Independence police pursued a third suspect to a home in southeast Kansas City, where a house was surrounded by authorities for about six hours. Kansas City police ultimately took a man into custody and turned him over to Independence police.
