District Attorney Steve Howe confirmed Thursday that Heather Jones was no longer employed in his office, but he would not say anything more.
Robin Fowler, Jones’ attorney, said Thursday that she had resigned June 6 to go into private practice.
Jones was a former prosecutor in Franklin County and most recently led the sex crimes unit in Johnson County.
She was named in court documents filed earlier this year against then Franklin County sheriff Jeffry D. Curry. The documents alleged Curry had tipped off Jones, with whom he was having a relationship, that she was accused of buying illegal drugs.
Lawyers for Jones and Curry said the allegations against her were not true, and she was not charged.
Curry resigned as sheriff in March.
