Kansas City police ID victim of double shooting

A man who was killed in a double shooting outside a Kansas City convenience store was identified Tuesday as Miguel Mitchell, 30.

Mitchell was fatally shot Monday afternoon near Ninth Street and Indiana Avenue in the old Northeast area of Kansas City.

Police said another man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. outside the Pop’s Quick Shop. A citizen flagged down police officers who were driving by. Police were seeking two suspects who were seen running south from the scene.
