Authorities are investigating a body found Wednesday night in Henry County, Mo., as a homicide.

Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri Highway Patrol said Thursday the body had not yet been identified. It was reported about 8 p.m. in the Grand River. The highway patrol is assisting the Henry County sheriff’s office in the case. Henry County is southeast of Cass County.

Lowe said the body is not that of Brian VanMeter, a Kingsville, Mo., man who is presumed to have drowned Sunday in Big Creek east of Harrisonville.
