Looks like GQ is sweet on KC.

The men’s magazine, which named Kansas City denim designer Matt Baldwin one of the nation’s best, recently asked Port Fonda chef/owner Patrick Ryan to dish on his favorite restaurants, coffee shops and bars in town.

“Think KC is a fly-over city?” GQ asks in the story, which you can read here. “The man who gave the Midwest fried avocado tacos gives us 12 reasons otherwise.”

Ryan’s picks include burgers at Town Topic, steaks at the Golden Ox, drinks at Manifesto and Bluestem, coffee from Oddly Correct, beer and pinball at 403 Club in KCK, and slices at Johnny Jo’s Pizza. He also gives a shout-out to Baldwin Denim, which designed Port Fonda’s aprons.

For more on Ryan’s Westport restaurant Port Fonda, check out this review in The Star. And don’t forget to check the restaurant’s diesmillo off your dining to-do list this summer.
