Traveling to one of the trendiest places in the world can be tricky. Rachael, a model with Seven Model Management in Kansas City, is making her long-legged leap to Milan, Italy, with hopes of strutting her stuff for some of the most coveted labels in the industry. Before her trek, we took her to Standard Style for suggestions on what to wear on a voyage abroad this summer.

Retail director Joni Johnson suggested that Rachael stick with sophisticated, tailored pieces in classic colors such as black, white and navy to blend in. Daytime looks are a bit dressier overseas than at home, said Johnson, who also recommended packing easy-to-wear dresses with unique details to mingle successfully in the fashion mecca.

“We wanted to give Rachael real-life options that she can feel comfortable wearing day after day … casual and not trying too hard, but styled and pulled together,” she said.
