Wednesday in the minors: Omaha's postponement is the highlight

Yem Prades and Carlo Testa hit back-to-back homers in the second inning to stake the Class AA Northwest Arkansas to an early lead on Wednesday.

However, Corpus Christi scored five runs in a row and stifled a late Naturals’ comeback as Northwest Arkansas lost 5-4.

Starter Brooks Pounders gave up all five runs on eight hits and three walks with five strikeouts. His ERA climbed to 4.14.

Third baseman Orlando Calixte was two for four with two RBIs and a run scored, while shortstop Alex McClure also had two hits.

Low-A Lexington

Left-hander Daniel Stumpf gave up one run on three hits, but took the loss as the Legends fell 1-0 to Kannapolis.

Stumpf walked two and struck out six as his ERA dropped to 1.90.

First baseman Mike Donato had two hits for the Legends. Bubba Starling didn’t start but came on as a pinch runner.

High-A Wilmington

The Blue Rocks were held to four hits in a 3-0 loss to Carolina.

Starter Tyler Sample gave up two runs (one earned) in 4 1/3 innings with four walks and four strikeouts. Scott Alexander tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out two. Andrew Triggs gave up the last run on three hits.
