Biz notes: Foulston Siefkin, League of Women Voters, Special Olympics

New managing partner

Kevin Arnel has been named managing partner of Foulston Siefkin LLP, a law firm with offices in Overland Park, Wichita and Topeka. Arnel, who works out of the firm’s Wichita office, succeeds Doug Stanley, who recently died. Arnel joined the firm in 1987 and became a partner in 1992.

League leader

Dolores Furtado of Overland Park has been elected president of the League of Women Voters of Kansas for the next two years. She is a past co-president of the Johnson County league, a former Johnson County Commissioner and former Kansas representative for District 19. Furtado retired from the department of microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics at the University of Kansas Medical School in 2001.

Special Olympics recognition

Special Olympics Kansas has named Cargotec USA’s Terminal Tractor division in Ottawa, Kan. as its 2012 Metro Region Outstanding Business of the Year. The region covers 13 counties in northeast Kansas.
