Former Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor to speak at KC Library

Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, will speak June 3 at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. The public is invited to the free event.

The retired justice will share insights contained in her new book, “Out of Order.”

It’s the first in a series of discussions focused on the high court being presented by the Kansas City Public Library, the Truman Library Institute and the Federal Court Historical Society. Grants from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Legacy Fund are underwriting O’Connor’s appearance.

O’Connor’s talk begins at 6:30 p.m. and is preceded by a reception at 6. Reserve a spot at kclibrary.org or by calling 816-701-3407.
