Economic Development Corp. names two senior executives

The Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City on Friday named two new members to its executive team.

The organization, which provides services for business expansion and retention, announced the appointment of Bernardo Ramirez as executive vice president and chief operating officer and T’Risa McCord as senior vice president-chief administrative officer.

Ramirez, who fills a new position at the organization, was previously executive director of the Hispanic Economic Development Corp. in Kansas City. At the EDC, Ramirez will manage business and community development activities.

McCord, a financial analyst with Primerica Financial Services, succeeds Gloria Wood, who is retiring. McCord, who was a business development specialist and project manager at the EDC from 1994 to 1997, will primarily manage administrative and development service activities at the organization.
