Falcon chick hatches on webcam

Updated: 2013-05-24T01:11:03Z

A falcon chick hatched Thursday in a nest that is being monitored by a live webcam atop the Commerce Tower downtown.

The Missouri Department of Conservation said the mother was sheltering the chick with her body. The father brought food Thursday afternoon. Biologists don’t know if three other eggs will hatch.

The family can be watched on streaming video at http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/wildlife-cameras/kansas-city-falcon-web-camera.
