Kansas City Zoo will open early all summer

Updated: 2013-05-21T21:52:16Z

Early risers can get a new perspective on the Kansas City Zoo this summer as the animal park adopts new hours.

Beginning Saturday and lasting through Labor Day, the zoo will open at 8 a.m. instead of 9:30 a.m., allowing visitors to view animals when they are more active than during the heat of the day.

The zoo will continue to close at 4 p.m. weekdays and 5 p.m. weekends.
