Kansas City police on Monday identified a man killed in a one-car crash Sunday afternoon as Bradley R. Miller, 27, of Platte City.

Miller was on his way to work about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle northbound on North Ambassador Driver near Northwest 107th Terrace, just several hundred feet from his workplace.

He crossed the roadway, hit the west curb and struck a large tree. His car burst into flames.

Some of his co-workers walked down to the wreckage, including Miller’s manager, who told police Miller was always very dependable.

Police don’t know why Miller lost control on the straight road, but were investigating all possibilities, including a medical problem. Police said there were no signs that Miller braked or took evasive action before hitting the tree.
