KC cleans up from Sunday’s storms

Sunday's storms in the Kansas City region left behind power outages, fallen trees and damaged roofs.

About 53,969 customers lost power since 7 p.m. Sunday, and some Kansas City Power & Light customers still had no electricity when they woke up.

About 11,800 customers were without power as of 7 a.m. Monday, including 9,923 customers in Missouri. About 1,782 customers in Johnson County, primarily in the northeast area, were without power as of 7 a.m. In Jackson County, about 4,108 customers were without power.

Some of the hardest hit areas included Grandview, which had 642 people remaining without power, and Raytown, which had 550 people without power, as of 7 a.m. Monday.

In St. Joseph, about 2,717 people were without power.
