Man gets life without parole for child porn

Updated: 2013-05-15T00:32:20Z

A 40-year-old Blue Springs man already convicted of sex charges involving children was sentenced Tuesday to life in federal prison without parole for doing it again.

William G. Weiss is the first person prosecuted in the Western District of Missouri under a federal law that mandates a life sentence for prior offenders who repeat, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Weiss pleaded guilty to producing child pornography with an 8-9-year-old girl. Self-produced video of Weiss having sex with the girl was discovered on his cell phone and his computer.

Weiss was previously convicted in state court of attempted statutory sodomy of two other children and was required to register as a sex offender.
