Updated: 2013-05-13T23:27:52Z

The Board of Public Utilities has issued an advisory to boil water before use in part of Kansas City, Kan.

The affected area is north of County Line Road and south of Hagemann Street, between 53rd and 59th streets.

The utility reported poor taste and odor of the water in that area. People should boil water for one minute before using it to drink, cook or brush teeth. The advisory will remain in effect until a bacterial test indicates the water is safe.
