The Red Door Grill plans to open its “red door” at 3 p.m. Monday for limited dinner and bar service.

The full dinner service and lunch service will be added soon.

Acclaimed chef Debbie Gold is a partner in the new restaurant in Leawood’s Camelot Court at 11851 Roe Avenue - at the northeast corner of 119th Street and Roe Avenue.

Chef Jacob Moeller previously worked with Gold and was most recently with The Elms Hotel & Spa in Excelsior Springs.

The menu will include “A’Teezers” such as squid and chips, grilled artichokes, and a Butcher’s board, along with salads, burgers featuring McGonigles’s custom blend of beef brisket, short rib and chuck tenderloin, and sandwiches featuring pulled pork, fire-grilled steak and rotisserie chicken from Alex Pope’s Local Pig.

Entrees will include white sweet tacos with epazote beans, cabbage slaw and crema queso fresco with a choice of rotisserie pork or grilled sirloin; scallops with fire roasted creamy corn and charred spring onion; salmon with fire roasted radicchio and tomato gravy; hanger steak, chimichurri, fire roasted oyster mushrooms and bone marrow; sirloin with roasted tomatoes, toasted garlic and potatoes; chicken with creamy mashed potatoes; and pork with wood-fired polenta.

Desserts will include sarsaparilla doughnut holes with Christopher Elbow sweet cream ice cream. The restaurant also will have a children’s menu.

As for the drink menu, it will include cocktails like the Colada Punch, Berry Cherry Mojito and the Blood Orange Cosmo.

Red Door Grill is consulting with Kansas City’s Doug Frost, an American Master of Wine and Master Sommelier, on the wine list and it plans to have a range of price points. It also will have eight regionally crafted beers on draft and by the bottle.

The space formerly housed Paddy O’Quigley’s but it has been completely remodeled with reclaimed woods, high booths and a large patio with a fire pit.

The stone-topped bar also is surrounded by booths and includes a central communal table and nine large flat screen televisions.

Red Door Grill is the first concept by Red Door Restaurants, led by Jason Gleaton, operations partner, Gary Zancanelli, founding partner, and Gold, culinary partner. Red Door Restaurants has plans to open multiple “neighborhood-oriented” restaurants in the Kansas City market in the near term and then expand regionally.
