Rockhurst hires men’s lacrosse coach

Updated: 2013-05-10T21:08:57Z

Kevin Kelley is the new men’s lacrosse coach at Rockhurst, which will begin the sport in spring 2014. Kelley, who played on Syracuse’s NCAA championship team in 2000, was the assistant varsity lacrosse coach at Shawnee Mission East for the past two years.

“Kevin brings a great deal of experience in motivating, teaching and coaching the sport of lacrosse to young players,” said Rockhurst director of athletics Gary Burns. “He works well with students in conveying both the game of lacrosse as well as the importance of character both on and off the field. He will emphasize hard work, fundamentals and a team-first mentality.”
