Kansas City should have ranked No. 1 as the most redneck city in America

Those who chafe at Kansas City’s well-earned reputation of being a cow town certainly won’t like this area ranking No. 2 among the Most Redneck Cities in America.

But that’s where the real estate website Movoto placed Kansas City. Movoto examined such things as high school completion, per capita number of gun stores, cowboy boot stores, taxidermists, country radio stations, Wal-Marts, riding lawn mower shops and the number of NASCAR racetracks nearby, The Kansas City Star reports.

Movoto also should have considered the number of widely publicized barbecue contests a city might have, the huge attendance for such events, the obesity rate of the area, country restaurants, country nightclubs and big events in town such as the American Royal, parade, rodeo and livestock shows.

Kansas City should have ranked No. 1, instead of that prize going to Atlanta.
