Teen girl dies in ATV crash in rural Ray County

A 14-year-old girl from Rose Hill, Va., died Tuesday evening in an ATV crash in Ray County.

Marlene J. Eicher was identified as the crash victim, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The crash happened north of Richmond, Mo. Marlene was headed east on 188th Street near Dockery Road about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control.

The 2011 Arctic Cat she was driving went off the road and through a fence, then overturned, according to the report. Marlene was ejected and the ATV landed top of her.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
