Lipstick that looks like candy showed up in spring on runway models who wore designs from Missoni and Burberry. The intense hues were softened by neutral tones on the eyes and cheeks to create looks that weren’t “too overdone,” Martin said.
Here are her top color picks for spring and summer lips, along with tips on how to wear them:
Tangerine tones enliven lips and awaken the entire face. If you’re not used to wearing orange, Martin recommends easing into the look by trying a lip gloss with a tiny tint of tangerine.
While often overlooked in spring, berries and plum colors work well on darker skin tones.
Pink is a warm-weather staple. Martin is a fan of magenta and fuschia. Hot pink is a plucky pick for people with cool, pink undertones.
