Police on Tuesday shed no new light on the investigation into an alleged rape late last month reportedly involving a former member of Wichita State University’s Final Four basketball team.

“All I can say is that the case is still under investigation,” Lt. Randy Reynolds, head of the sex crimes unit, said in an e-mailed response to questions.

A 20-year-old woman told police she woke up while being raped at the residence of one of the former player’s teammates early on the morning of April 21. She reported that the incident occurred between 3:57 and 4:30 a.m. She reported the alleged assault at 11:10 a.m. that day.

The alleged victim agreed to be examined, and a sexual assault exam was performed.

Wichita police have said no current players are under investigation.
