Because of the weather, KCK Cinco de Mayo event is called off

Updated: 2013-05-02T23:43:19Z

The cold and wet weather has caused organizers to call off this weekend’s Cinco de Mayo festivities in Kansas City, Kan.

The sixth annual event in downtown Kansas City, Kan., including a parade and Bonito Michoacan festivities, was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Organizers said they wanted to ensure a safe event.

Plans are being made to reschedule events for another weekend in May or June.
